Strawberry Banana Acai Bowl

Strawberry Banana Acai Bowl | ScrambledandSpiced.com

A few years ago I discovered Acai Bowls on a trip to Mission Beach, CA to visit my best friend, Josh. We went to this adorable little cafe that had a massive patio for customers to enjoy the warm, *humidity-free* San Diego weather and there was an acoustic guitarist playing seaside tunes such as Jimmy Buffet and Jack Johnson. The setting was pretty much perfect and so was the food. The server brought us out a massive white bowl full of a beautiful purple smoothie topped with loads of granola, strawberry, banana, and coconut. It was love at first sight…

Acai Bowls are essentially really thick berry smoothies with the addition of delicious toppings such as fresh fruit, honey, granola, etc. They’re one of my favorite breakfast items because they’re easy, nutrition, and filing.  While you can make a smoothie bowl without acai, you should definitely give acai a try because it’s really delicious and super good for you. If you’re looking for a good blender, I use my Nutri Bullet and I can easily whip one of these up in just a few minutes. Try to keep the smoothie as thick as possible, using only enough liquid to keep the blender going. This way you can add tasty toppings without them sinking immediately to the bottom.
